The children's mountain is made up of pirate ships and castles to conquer
Since last July there has also been a bit of GEA on Monte Rosa. At an altitude of 1500 meters on Alpe di Mera and at 2050 on Pianalunga di Alagna, two new high-altitude playgrounds designed and built by GEA were inaugurated. Since 1990 we have made fun of the little ones and their families our mission, creating places and spaces suitable for every type of situation and need, in the belief that each of our products must first of all be an emotion, a combination of leisure, joy. and learning opportunities.
We love challenges, we like to see how far our imagination and our expertise can lead us. For this reason, after having been in 2016 among the main partners of the Skyway for Kid project in the Mont Blanc area and having inaugurated the highest playground in Europe at 2173 meters, two new projects have brought us to the Piedmontese side of Monte Rosa. , in particular in the small town of Mera, a hidden pearl in the Alps, reachable only by cable car, and in Pianalunga, in the municipality of Alagna Valsesia, from where you climb up to Passo dei Salati at 2971 meters. The idea was born from the need expressed by Monterosa 2000 Spa, manager of the ski lifts, to guarantee children and their families a safe and pleasant recreation, which would allow them to enjoy the mountains to the fullest. Natural materials, careful planning and respect for the place were our starting points.
Thus in Mera the small lake that served as a trough for grazing cows is now crossed by a pirate galleon that heads straight towards Monte Rosa, made entirely of rustic wood, complete with a raft to move from one bank to the other; while in Pianalunga the castle with the slides, the climbs and the cableway are made safe by an anti-trauma carpet made with local oak bark, thus integrating perfectly with the nearby stone shelters.
"The most beautiful aspect of the projects is that of being able to give children something to do when they go up to high altitude, allowing them to experience the mountains at their own size - explains Matteo Pulli, one of the owners of Gea - Our vocation is precisely to bring children in the mountains, to make this experience enjoyable for everyone, including families, while having a deep respect for the places, without polluting both from an environmental and visual point of view ».
Not simple play spaces, therefore, but a set of emotions and experiences that will allow children to create unique memories in the name of love and respect for our extraordinary mountains.
